In todays society a holiday is a day set aside by custom or by law on which business, work or school, are suspended to allow individuals to gather and celebrate or commemorate an event or tradition of cultural or religious significance.
An observance or Celebration of a holiday is usually designated by governments, religious institutions, or other groups or organizations. A Birthday, Anniversary, or other family event may also be regarded as a holiday.
